What roles do we have?

Working in the homelessness sector can be fantastically rewarding. You can contribute to making a real difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in England. At Homeless Link, as the umbrella body for the sector, we do not deliver many services directly but we employ homelessness experts in our Practice Development Team and Partnerships Team. We also employ researchers, policy experts, campaigners, communicators, trainers, training managers, event managers, along with the customary Finance, Administrative and Leadership roles

About half of Homeless Link's staff work for InForm which is the CRM that we provide for the Homelessness Sector. The skills needed in InForm are sometimes very technical (Salesforce Administrator) but also include some roles requiring a strong customer focus and some marketing skills.

And somewhere in the middle we have some teams that use their technical and data skills to help end homelessness, such as through managing the CHAIN database or Homeless England.

What's it like to work at Homeless Link?

Homeless Link has an office conveniently located very close to Aldgate Tube Station between the City of London and Shoreditch. The office is well equipped. We are on the third floor,  with lifts that provide disabled access. Many of our team cycle to work and there is bicycle storage in the building. Because of remote working we operate a hot desking policy with office based staff being given lockers. We have a very pleasant staff room.

Remote working. Before the pandemic, nearly all the team were based in our offices - although we have always supported remote working for our Partnership Managers who cover the regions of the country. However since the pandemic, like so many others, we are much more flexible and our team is becoming increasingly dispersed across the country. For most posts the staff member can choose whether to be office based (requiring attendance at the office at least two full days per week), which will then attract a London weighting. Or home based where there will be no London weighting but a homeworking allowance and travel expenses are paid if you are required to come to the office .

Different posts have different levels of requirements, but all require at least a couple of days per year in London to attend all staff conferences. If you are applying for a role at Homeless Link, check the job pack carefully to see the extent to which remote working is allowed.

We work to ensure our staff are supported during their employment, and pride ourselves in being an accessible employer. If  you have any accessibility requirements during the recruitment process please get in touch with us.
