Safeguarding children and young people in homeless settings

Safeguarding children is everyone’s business. Children and young people who are homeless can be particularly vulnerable to abuse, violence and exploitation either because of previous experiences that have contributed to them becoming homeless or they may be vulnerable because they are homeless.

It is important organisations are able to identify safeguarding concerns and provide effective support to keep children and young people safe. Following the publication of our guidance Safeguarding children and young people, this webinar will explore actions individuals and organisations can take to implement effective safeguarding practices.

• Learn about a holistic approach to safeguarding, and a working understanding of how this can be implemented in practice
• Get an overview of staff and organisational roles and responsibilities, in keeping children and young people safe.
• Hear from Cumbria County Council on their approach to safeguarding, and how this has been implemented in their youth homelessness pathway in practice
• Get an opportunity to share information and ask questions with the panel
