With the current news focus on cold winter provision, Homeless Link and StreetLink have featured in several recent press articles.

Most recently, Fiona Colley, our Director of Social Change, was interviewed by iNews to explain the dangers of sleeping rough in freezing temperatures, how Severe Weather Emergency Protocol works and how the public can help people they see sleeping rough by using StreetLink.

Fiona has also appeared on Sky News and GB News on the same topic in the past week.

In addition, several national, regional and consumer news sites have published articles featuring advice from Homeless Link on how the public can help people sleeping rough during a cold snap, including The Independent and Time Out.

Other notable press mentions from the last month include our comments in response to the news from the ONS that homeless deaths increased in 2021 and the surge in no fault evictions revealed in the government’s statutory homelessness statistics – both in the Daily Mirror.

We have also had journalists coming to us to ask to speak to and film front line services on a variety of topics from cost-of-living to cold weather, and have put them in touch with several of our members.
