Earlier this year we saw 300 people walk through the night and raised over £100,000 to support London homeless charities. It was a fantastic event and we are preparing for a bigger and better one in 2023.

Once again London Homeless Collective are bringing charities in the sector together to end homelessness in the capital with a night walk through the city. With free places available for Homeless Link members with income under £500,000.

London Walk

This London Walk 2023 take place on Friday 10th March, starting from the iconic St Martin’s in the Fields Church. This is a night walk through the capital, offering an opportunity for reflection on the experience of people who are homeless. Not just people who are forced to sleep on the streets but those who walk through the night, travel on night buses or access 24 hour retail sites in order to stay awake and stay safe. In particular young people, trans people and women.

It is a night when homeless charities in London can come together to walk to end homelessness. Last year we raised £100,000 across the sector and in 2023 we want to raise £250,000.

There are a choice of distances; 10k, ½ marathon and a marathon. All routes will take the form of loops from the St Martin’s site so there will always be an opportunity for a comfort break and refreshments as part of the walk.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Homeless Link members to raise money for their services and engage with their supporters. For Homeless Link members with income under £500,000, Homeless Link are underwriting places which means there is no upfront cost to buying places, you only pay for the place if people raise the minimum sponsorship amount.

Barons Court Project was delighted to take part in the London Walk. We were proud to recruit 30 walkers to join us, raising over £16K for our work. We wanted our guests to be able to take part and thanks to Homeless Link underwriting places they were able too with no risk to ourselves. This enabled our community and friends to step out in confidence as they spent a night walking in the shoes of people who are homeless. (Michael Angus, Director)
